With this program you will -

•Gain an understanding of the relevant AS/NZ Standards that apply to drug and alcohol testing.

•Learn how screening tools work, and how to use them.

•Learn how to communicate in challenging situations, and safely conduct screens.

•Gain an understanding of the effects of drugs and alcohol, and the impact they have on Australian industry.

•Develop a greater understanding of how to manage issues of drugs and alcohol, including best practice for policy and procedure development.


Students can complete the online portion in approximately 4 hours. Then book in for your 1.5 hour face to face (via Zoom) practical lesson with our experts. This session teaches you how to conduct tests professionally, use the tools, and follow through on confirmatory testing.

There are three options for blended delivery. For each option, all tools and equipment are provided.


Option 1 - online learning (4 hours), face to face webinar (1.5 hours), submit videos of you conducting three drug and alcohol screens on co-workers.

Option 2 - online learning (4 hours), face to face webinar (1.5 hours), book in at our offices, or book a face-to-face online appointment for you to demonstrate three drug and alcohol screens on co-workers.

Option 3 - online learning(4 hours), face to face webinar (1.5 hours). Complete your demonstrations with a workplace Supervisor (supervisor must be a certified drug and alcohol tester who works 18 hr per fortnight in a testing role). # Supervisor requirements - the activities undertaken in the workplace need to be supervised by a person currently working in a collection role for at least 18 hours in a fortnight time period. A declaration of the activities being undertaken is required.


All demonstrations must be completed on three different subjects in a work environment. Feedback will be provided by your trainer, to ensure the highest quality training, in the most time effective manner.


KINNECT Training delivers this program on behalf of Trainwest (RTO#51807) and the Statement of Attainment will be issued by Trainwest.

As part of the commitment to you the student, if at any stage you feel the online is not what you are looking for you can switch into a face-to-face session.
